A Year of Selfies
On December 31st, 2015 I wrote on Facebook that " My New Years resolution is more selfies!!" and I started an album called 2016-366 Daily Selfies. At the time I had no idea what that meant and how or why I was going to do that. As the first days and weeks of January went on, I realized that I was capturing me working my goals and enjoying my life! When I had to explain to anyone why I was doing it, I said it was mostly so I could see the changes in my face and know that I was working on my health and fitness goals. As the year went on I realized that Health and Fitness were a big part but enjoying my life was a big part too.
On the last day of the year, there are 306 photos in my album. The days missed are the days that I wasn't on my A-game. I wasn't eating right; I wasn't working out, and/or I wasn't enjoying life. I found that when I was doing those things I was happy to post and always remembered. When I wasn't doing those things, I totally forgot to post. For me this means, live a life that is share worthy. Not to boast or brag but because that life feels good.
This year my resolution is to take social media apps off my phone and update people by writing a blog piece once a week. I will still check and post on social media. I believe it has a place in my life, just not in my hand all day, every day. I love seeing the updates of friends and family and finding out things going on in the community from my mommy groups. I won't give that up. I am just going to consume it in moderation.
I started my blog on my 35th birthday this year, and I did because I have some stuff to share. I tried to put myself in the box of a travel writer because I love to travel and I love reading travel writers but that's not me ( at least not all the time). My blog is called It's From Nicole, and that's all it is. It's from me to you. I could write about my thoughts on my life in general or a situation I am going through or a goal I am working on (or accomplished) or a trip I am taking or have taken or a person, place or thing I think is cool or a coupon or deal I want to share. It may be a sentence, a paragraph or what most would consider too damn long but it will always be real, honest and with the best intentions. According to Grammarly ( the app I use to help me with my grammar and spelling), it will also include Wordiness and Unnecessary ellipsis! ;)
It's From Nicole....My gift to you!
Thanks for reading!
